Mini Digger Stolen – CCTV and Dash Cam Appeal (Sutton St Nicholas, Hereford)

We’re appealing for information following the theft of a mini digger from a property on Ridgeway Road, Sutton St Nicholas at around 5am on Wednesday 9th July. It is believed the digger was loaded onto the back of a trailer and taken away.

The digger is a small Takeuchi, grey and red in colour. It has the following lettering on the side “A P ARROWPLANT” followed by a series of numbers. (Please see a photo of the digger below.)

Access appears to have been gained via Orchard Lane, but the direction of travel from there is currently unknown.

We’ve already checked nearby properties with CCTV, but nothing has been picked up so far.

We’re now asking residents in the immediate area to please check any CCTV or doorbell footage from around that time. If you were driving in the area around 5am on the 9th, we’d also be grateful if you could review any dash cam footage you may have.

If you have any information, you can report it anonymously via Crimestoppers at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or through the West Mercia Police website: www.westmercia.police.uk.

You can also contact us directly via Neighbourhood Matters.

🔐 General Security Advice

To help prevent thefts like this in the future, here are a few tips:

  • Secure equipment: Always lock machinery and vehicles when not in use. Use wheel clamps, immobilisers, or heavy-duty chains.
  • Install CCTV and lighting: Motion-activated lights and visible cameras can deter thieves.
  • Mark your property: Use forensic marking kits or engrave your tools and machinery with identifiable information.
  • Keep records: Maintain up-to-date records of serial numbers, makes, models, and photos of valuable equipment.
  • Report suspicious activity: If you see something unusual, report it straight away.
